For anyone that wants to do a DIY French nails project there are some basic supplies you will need. These supplies can be purchased at any beauty supply store, and in some cases online or locally. If you don’t have access to the internet, then simply find a nail technician in your area and ask them if they have any recommendations. They should be able to provide you with a couple different suggestions of professionals that you can contact to get started.
The first item you will need to purchase is a set of clippers to trim off your finger nails. Typically the clippers come already attached because the manufacturer has packaged them specifically for this process. It is important to make sure you use the right clipper and not one that is designed for painting or sculpting. This can be a little trickier, so we suggest asking for some assistance from your local artist.
Next you will need an adhesive remover. Removing the glue on your nails can be quite messy to use the right remover is important. If you are not comfortable applying the glue yourself, you may want to use the assistance of a friend. There are a couple options out there, so talk to your local nail tech and see what they suggest. Be sure you follow their instructions and remove as much of the glue as possible without damaging your cuticles. The glue remover will help you clean up the mess once you’re done.
Once your nails are clean and dry, you are ready to start your DIY French nails! You will first paint your nails black. Then apply a coat of glue on your nail base and press it into place. Repeat this process until all of your nails are covered in glue.
Now it’s time to attach the flowers to your nail. Make sure they are secured by using some clear tape. Use your hot glue gun to put the remaining pieces of glue on and press them into place. Once you are satisfied with how they look, cover up the entire part of your nail with a white piece of plastic wrap. You don’t want anything to get caught in the glue.
When your nails have dried up, you are ready to enjoy your DIY French nails! You can wear them up or down depending on how you like. They also make a great accent to any outfit. So what are you waiting for? Get going!
