When you think of nail colors for summer, you might think of bright, neon tones. Bright reds, neon blues, and hot pink can all be terrific nail colors for summer. While these are also very pretty, they can also be very hot in the wallet. Many nail colors for summer have a natural base color and are a bit cooler than bright, unnatural hues. Here are some suggestions for neutralizing and fusing with your current nail color for maximum summer fun:
* If you have a warm base color already (such as brown or gold), a bit of pink would not hurt. You can opt for a smoky pink to get a little hint of drama, but stay away from too much color. If you have pink nail polish already, just play it up a bit by wearing a little chunky glitter on the tip of your nails. It will make your pink nail polish look great and keep its natural base value.
* For those who don’t have the luxury of having a warm nail polish shade, a bit of green or yellow might work. As with nail polish, choose a green shade that doesn’t have too much glitter. Stay away from nail polish with a lot of glittery flecks of light. These are very distracting and can distract from the rest of your design.
* Pastel nail colors for summer are so cute and girly. Lavender, peach, and lilac are ideal. While these nail colors don’t scream “sexy” like bright red or neon blue, they are very beautiful and add sparkle to your manicure. They don’t have to be paired with sexy nail polish!
* You can wear nail polish with your nail color but try not to have the same shade for too long. Your nail polish is not a magic wand that can change your look in an instant. While you might think you like your nail polish, you might change your mind once you see how gorgeous your nails look. It’s better to go with a different nail polish shade for every day of the week. If you change your nail polish at the last minute, it will be much harder to match the shade when you get ready for work in the morning.
As with all nail colors, the best way to wear them is to be consistent. This means applying the same color to your hand and your nails at home on a daily basis and only changing them out when you’re going out of town for the weekend. By being consistent with your nail colors for summer, you’ll have nails that are polished, shiny, and ready to go for any occasion.
