How to Do Your Holiday Nails For Easter at a Nail Salon

By Janie

Easter is just around the corner and that means the return to the beauty salon for a relaxing manicure and nails. This time of the year has become known as the “working holiday,” so it may be your chance to get in a few hours of pampering and be treated to some manicure and pedicure treatment that will improve your appearance. This is also the time of year when most salon owners change their seasonal stock to give them room to restock the following season. When you visit a nail salon for the first time during this busy season, it is important that you know how to spot the top performers. The following tips may help you find the very best nail spa and manicure professionals.

First impressions count, so you should make sure that the technician you are considering has a friendly disposition and a professional look. You can usually tell if the salon is leaning more towards cleanliness by the way the employees dress. If they all have neat, tidy uniforms and business-like hair cutting and styling tools, then you may want to avoid the salon. The best nail techs tend to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes with a professional look. If you notice any staff members checking their nails with spas and nail technicians then you might want to look elsewhere.

Next you should ask about the types of cuticles they use. While different people have different cuticles, the best cuticles are cut with a diamond plate. Diamond plate nails are more difficult to cut, which is why you should choose a technician who has used these types of cuticles before. Ask the person you are talking to about their experience and how long they have been doing manicures and pedicures.

When choosing the right polish for your nails, don’t settle for something that looks good. The best polish for your nails should match the color of your skin. If you already have a favorite polish, then go with it, but remember to not use too much. If you are getting a pedicure and a manicure at the same time, then go with the polish that is lighter. When you get your nails manicured, you will be able to leave the salon and apply your own polish. However, if you do not polish your nails before the pedicure and manicure, then you will only have an uneven finish.

During your appointment, you should expect the technician to buff your nails and remove any old polish. He or she will then put on your polish. You can opt to let them put the polish on with the buffing pad or by using a brush to apply it. If you are putting on the polish yourself, then you want to make sure that it matches your nails. If it does not, then the polish might not stay on as it should and chip away during your manicure.

Once your nails are polished, you will be able to leave the salon and enjoy your amazing nails for a while. If you don’t like the polish, then you can always get it re-applied at another salon. When you are getting your nails done, they will most likely be set in either gel acrylic, or cuticle. Once your nails dry, you will be able to apply a topcoat to protect them.
